Chauvin’s lawyer asked for mercy. Kinda like the mercy Chauvin and his fellow Minneapolis pigs showed Mr. Floyd, I guess. Only, as it turns out, the judge showed Chauvin a whole lot more mercy than the pig ever showed Mr. Floyd: an entire lifetime more, in fact. Excepting for a measly 20 years.
Chauvin’s mama said the judge was sentencing her, too. Kinda like the way Chauvin sentenced Mr. Floyd’s family, I guess.
In fact, Chauvin’s mama is wrong: it wasn’t the judge, the court, or “The Law” who “did this” to her. It was her own, “favorite,” son who did it. To her, to his papa, and to Mr. Floyd’s daughter, brothers, mother and father. And to all of Mr. Floyd’s loved ones.

Chauvin’s sentence made him only the second police officer in Minnesota history to be jailed for an on-duty murder and one of less than a dozen officers nationwide.
“Derek Chauvin sentenced to 22 1/2 years in prison for the murder of George Floyd,” The Washington Post, June 25, 2021.
And yet, despite his historical distinction of being only the second cop in Minnesota history to be convicted of on-duty murder — and one of less than a dozen nationally — Derek Chauvin did nothing unusual when he murdered Mr. Floyd: George Floyd was just one of about 1,000 people a year that American cops kill, and get away with killing.

“I do want to give my condolences to the Floyd family.”
Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin, at his sentencing hearing for the murder of Mr. George Floyd, June 25, 2021.
Really? Why I am not believing that?
Oh yeah: because a lying, corrupt, racist, brutal, Minneapolis killer cop said it.
A lying, corrupt, racist, brutal, killer cop … from the lying, corrupt, racist, brutal, killer, Minneapolis Police Department.
That’s why.
